Synopsis

The film is set in a radio station in Pontypool where one morning team starts taking reports of extreme, bloody incidents of violence in the city. As the story unfolds, the radio staff soon realizes the violence that is tearing apart the society is due to a virus spread through the English language. That in turn poses a problem for a yappy radio jock and his staff hid in the broadcast booth housed in the basement of the church abandoned the city as a slaughter rages beyond its walls. -Horror_Fan01

Pontypool was adapted from the novel Pontypool Changes Everything by Tony Burgess, who also wrote the screenplay. The story is about jock "shock" Grant Mazzy has, once again, was driven off the waves Big City and now works at the only job he could get pictures of the morning show on Radio CLSY in Pontypool Ontario, which transmits from the basement of the only church in the small town. What begins as a dull day of school bus cancellations due to snow storm even more massive, things soon turn deadly when reports of people having seizures bizarre, developing strange speech patterns and evoking horrific acts of violence start piling within a short time, Grant and the small team of CLSY are arrested at the radio station, they discover that this insane behavior taking the city is really a deadly virus being spread through the English language itself. Do they remain in the air, in the hope of being rescued or are in fact providing the virus with his last jump over the waves and the world?
