Dragon Ball: Evolution is the only game inspired by the eponymous film adaptation of the acclaimed manga de Akira Toriyama, Dragon Ball. The title, which is exclusive to the PlayStation Portable is the result of a partnership between Namco Bandai Games America Inc. and Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising (Fox L & M).

The title brings to the small screen of the PlayStation Portable all the action and magic of the movie in a fighting game that will combine the traditional dynamic adaptations of Dragon Ball franchise, with the plot and characters in the film.

In the movie Justin Chatwin (War of the Worlds) embodies the young Goku who teams with Bulma - represented by Emmy Rossum (The Day After Tomorrow) - Yamcha (Joon Park) and the old Master Roshi (played by Chow Yung Fat in Pirates of the Caribbean : At World's End) to combat the threat of Pikolo Daimao - James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer).
