Synopsis

Mankind was waiting for a hostile attack or a giant technological advances, none came. The aliens come to Earth as refugees and settled in an area of South Africa, District 9, as humans decide what to do with them. The Multi-National United (MNU) is a company contracted to control the aliens and keep them in camps and want to get huge profits for weapons that have the "raw" natural defenses of the aliens. But MNU failed attempt to manufacture weapons and to discover that they are activated, the DNA of aliens is necessary. The tension between humans and aliens increases when Wikus van der Merwe spreading a mysterious virus that modifies the DNA of creatures preventing MNU powerful to put into practice its business plans over the creatures from another planet. Then the man who becomes the world's most wanted, has to flee, and homeless and friendless, only has a place to hide: District 9.
