Synopsis

Publicist Charles Schine (Clive Owen), a resident of Chicago, is just another commuter who regularly catches the 8:43 train to go to work. But one day he arrives late, he loses his train and meets Lucinda Harris (Jennifer Aniston) and her life changed forever. Lucinda is charming, beautiful and seductive. Although both are married with children, their attraction to one another is magnetic. Lunch dates quickly become cocktails after work and before long, that passion will lead them to a hotel room. What seemed to be a case without major complications, just terribly wrong when LaRoche (Vincent Cassel), a brutal stranger, breaks into the room where the couple is with a gun. This once illicit liaison turns into a nightmare more dangerous and violent than they ever could imagine. Charles' life turns into a tangle of intrigue, blackmail, violence and crime. Unable to tell the truth to his wife or the police, Charles finds himself trapped in a world he does not recognize, without any trace of the life he once knew.
