Synopsis:

Based on an extraordinary true story, "An Act of Freedom" is an epic about family, honor, vengeance and salvation in World War II. The year is 1941 and the Jews of Eastern Europe are being massacred by the thousands. To escape from certain death, three brothers take refuge in a forest and they know from childhood. Ali begins his desperate fight against the Nazis. Daniel Craig, Liev Schreiber and Jamie Bell are the brothers who converted to primitive survival instincts into something more extraordinary - a way to avenge the death of their loved ones while saving hundreds of people. In principle, all you can do is stay alive. But gradually, the whispers of their daring spreads, attracting men and women, young and old, all willing to risk everything for a moment of freedom. Tuvia (Craig) is the reluctant leader whose decisions are challenged by his brother, zus (Schreiber), who sees him as an idealist about to destroy all. Asael (Bell) is the youngest, undecided about which brother should follow. With the approach of a brutal winter, they work to create a community, and keep the faith alive while all humanity seems lost.
