Synopsis:

Four New York police are killed in a trap that puts the entire police department on alert. With a cop killer on the loose and so much spinning in one case, the chief of detectives in Manhattan, Francis Tierney (Jon Voight), asks one of his sons, the detective Ray Tierney (Edward Norton) to lead the investigation. Reluctant, Ray takes the case, bearing in mind that the police who have died already worked for his brother, Francis Tierney Jr. (Noah Emmerich), and also along with his brother-in-law Jimmy Egan (Colin Farrell). Apparently, it seemed only a disastrous attempt to dismember a gang of drugs. But, as Ray is embrenha in the case, he realizes that someone must have told the traffickers on the incursion of the police. Someone from inside the corporation.
